The Ed Adams/Arts Council of Southern Indiana Fund criteria and selection procedures are below.
An annual scholarship shall be given each year provided that funds are available. The following criteria shall be used in selecting recipients of Scholarships awards:
Must be a graduate of either Floyd Central or New Albany High Schools.
Demonstrated achievement and participation in art or music.
The Scholarship will rotate between visual and performing art on a yearly schedule.
Selection criteria are subject to change by the Foundation, as necessary, to ensure adherence to state or federal laws.
One potential recipient each will be nominated by the arts department of New Albany and Floyd Central High School. The Nominees will submit their work and/or audition for a panel of Jurors that are respected professionals in their field, based on the criteria listed.
The 2016 Ed Adams/Arts Council of Southern Indiana Fund will be given to a deserving visual arts student.
Tim Glasscock – Vocalist, Dean of Bellarmine Music Department.
Marty Hubler – Musician and music instructor
Jamey Aebersold – NEA Jazz Master
David Scopelliti – Musician and Scientist
Amy Robinson – Professional Dancer and Owner of Motion Studios
All of the jurors are educated in their field with a BA or a MA in Fine Arts; they have all exhibited extensively and are included in collections nationally and internationally.
