The mission of the Arts Council of Southern Indiana is to engage our community through the arts, play a role in ensuring that the arts enrich our lives, and to offer collaboration, encouragement and support to our cultural and artistic community while making certain the arts are integrated into our educational, social, and economic life.
Each year, the Arts Council of Southern Indiana (ACSI) produces six contemporary art exhibits in its main gallery.
Exhibits feature regional and national artists. Historical and rotating exhibits are hosted in the second floor exhibit space.
Opening receptions give visitors a unique opportunity to meet and talk with the artists. Upcoming art exhibits will feature sculptors, painters, glass, and more.
The Arts Council of Southern Indiana (ACSI) also hosts four community events - The ACSI Grand Film Festival, Mother’s Day Tea, Monarch Celebration, and Bourbon, Barbeque and Beer Artists Showcase. We also award shows and scholarships for high school students, along with grants and educational projects within our communities.
ACSI LIttle Free Library... Take a book - leave a book!
The goal of our Little Free Library is to promote literacy and love of reading through a free book exchange.
We also strive to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity, and wisdom across generations. Local authors are encouraged to drop off a copy of their work.
We also welcome local authors in our gift shop.
